Why does my shoulder hurt? Unfortunately, the matter is not as simple as it might seem, because the shoulder has many structures that can be damaged by injury or overload…
Shoulder pain can be caused by:
- degenerative disease, rheumatic diseases
- muscle tendon damage
- injury to the collarbone area
- shoulder / shoulder bursitis
- biceps brachii
- injury
- degenerative changes of the cervical spine
- upper chest aperture syndrome
How to recognise the cause of pain?
We start with a thorough interview – how long has the pain been present for, when did it appear and what makes it worse. Then we go to the study in which I determine the structure that can be disturbed – the joint, muscle or maybe the ligament? Then we establish an individual therapy plan tailored to the given disorder. In controversial cases, it may be necessary to perform an imaging test.
Does your shoulder hurt? Are you wondering why? I do not know yet, but I will definitely try to find the reason and choose the therapy so that it brings long-lasting effects.
