What is an isometric massage?

What is isometric massage? In what situations do you use it and what exactly is it? What effects does it cause? Come and see!

Isometric massage is a physiotherapeutic procedure with the use of manual therapy.

It is used in people who have experienced significant muscle weakness or partial disappearance, e.g. due to prolonged bed rest caused by the disease.

“Isometric” – means static, still. The purpose of this massage is the lack of movement. The idea is that with it, the muscle returns to its strength and mass without the need to perform independent strengthening exercises. How is this possible?

It is performed on the muscle group or on the strained muscle without causing a change in the distance of the attachments or movement in the joint. After the first treatment, the adipose tissue and the muscle circumference are reduced. However, after subsequent sessions of isometric massage, muscle mass begins to arrive, and hence – the muscle circuit as well. Thanks to the isometric massage, the circulation of the lymph improves, and the skin becomes firmer and bloodier due to the fact that it is more oxidised and better supplied with blood.
